The WWF Mania intro rolls and then fades back into Todd Pettengill sitting at the television production table inside Titan Towers for another exciting morning of WWF action! Thanksgiving decorations are hung all around the room and Todd is dressed for the upcoming holidays with an ugly sweater and jeans.
Todd Pettengill: Gooooooood morning, everyone! Your WWF Mania host here, Todd Pettengill! Thanks for joining me for another great morning of World Wrestling Federation action! Thanksgiving is soon and do you know what that means? Well, it means delicious food of course! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! Bu-but - that's not all it means! It also means that SURVIVOR SERIES IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! That's right, folks - two more weeks until the Survivor Series! Now... we know for certain the main event for the show and boy it's a doozie as Bret "The Hitman" Hart... and that scumbag manager of his Jim Cornette... head into Philadelphia to put the WWF world title on the line against the two men he and his brother Owen screwed at In Your House, "Made in the USA" Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan in a triple threat match! That one alone is worth the price of admission, but if you aren't sold yet... this week on Mania what is sure to be a fantastic card will become a little bit clearer as we bring you a full morning of action from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium! Let's take you down to ringside where Vince McMahon and Jerry "The King" Lawler are ready to get things kicked off for us!
REPO MAN VS. STING
The first match of Mania we saw The Repo Man look to turn back luck around as he faced a debuting Sting in exciting one on one action.
The match began with a tie up and Repo Man quickly took advantage with a finger poke to the eyes of Sting. With Sting temporarily blinded the Repo Man went to work with a series of right hands followed by a stiff short-arm clothesline.
Later in the match Sting had bounced back however when he was able to counter a back body drop into a sharp DDT. Sting then picked Repo Man up and irish whipped him into the turnbuckle with fury, before backing up and charging full steam ahead, connecting with a huge Stinger Splash.
The ending of the match came as both men had gone back and forth and Repo Man had almost won the match via a sleeper hold, but Sting fought back and was eventually able to down Repo Man with a one-handed bulldog. He took advantage and followed up with the Scorpion Death Lock, and Repo Man had no choice but to tap out. Your winner - Sting!
WINNER BY SUBMISSION: Sting
Todd claps as he watches Sting celebrate his successful debut with the WWF fans in attendance in Nashville. He swings around in his chair to face the camera with a huge smile on his face.
Todd Pettengill: What a fantastic match! I couldn't think of any better way to open up this week's show, both of those guys gave it their all in that one! I still can't believe it - STING IS IN THE WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION! Yes! Alright, everyone - no time to waste - it's two of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling colliding! And it's NOW!
Mania fades back down to the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
STEVE AUSTIN VS. HULK HOGAN
The next bout divided the fans like no other as we saw the returning "Stone Cold" Steve Austin challenge "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan, and boy what a contest it was.
Hogan took control early by overpowering Austin with his signature right hands and even pulled off a huge back suplex, taking Austin down hard.
The Rattlesnake is never one to stay down however and Austin soon found himself on the offensive with a Lou Thesz Press and hammer fists right to the face of the Hulkster. Austin then picked Hogan up and backed him into the turnbuckle, proceeding to "mudhole" stomp him into the mat.
After what seemed like a one-sided beat down Hogan could take no more and begin to psych up as the fans went crazy. Hogan then laid into Austin with everything he had left, and irish whipped him into the ropes for the big boot. Austin however was one step ahead, ducked the big boot, and Hogan turned around right into a Stone Cold Stunner. Austin covered for the pin, and your winner - "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
WINNER BY PINFALL: Steve Austin
COMMERCIAL BREAK #1
Mania comes back from a commercial break to find everyone back at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium focused on the entrance ramp area. All of the lights in the building are dimmed and to the side of the stage is a neon sign lit up reading “Heartbreak Hotel” as Shawn Michaels’ theme blasts over the arena PA system. Set up in front of the neon sign are two red heart shaped chairs, in between them a tacky leg lamp with the background littered with mirrors all about for the ever so conceited Heartbreak Kid to admire himself in. Shawn Michaels sits in one of the recliners, Sherri Martel standing beside him smiling devilishly. The Heartbreak Kid, microphone in hand, lifts it up to his mouth as he welcomes everyone to the newest segment on WWF Mania.
Shawn Michaels: Ladies and gentlemen… welcome to the newest (and best) part of World Wrestling Federation programming and the home of “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, THE HEARTBREAK HOTEL!
Michaels briefly lowers the microphone to do his signature pose for the crowd as a spotlight illuminates him, giving the scene a bit more lighting. The crowd all boo, showing their displeasure for the WWF’s newest egomaniac. “Sensational” Sherri Martel claps Michaels on proudly as he brings the microphone back to his mouth, soaking in all of the negative attention from the fine pro wrestling fans in Nashville, Tennessee.
Shawn Michaels: I just want all of you to know that since the announcement of this show, WWF Superstars have been fighting tooth and nail to book their reservations and secure a spot on this show because they know where “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels is and all of the eyes will follow! But you know what? Heh… The Heartbreak Kid had to push one man to the very front of the line! One man that is on quite the roll.
Sherri’s face turns red as she works herself up over Shawn’s words.
Sherri Martel: Streak of luck! IT’S LUCK!!
Shawn smirks as he struts around the set, admiring himself in the mirrors as he does so.
Shawn Michaels: Of course it’s luck! There’s simply nothing else that can explain it because now our cute little Marty has grown up and won a title all on his own. Yes, that Marty. Yes the same Marty that I carried on my back for seven years. The same one that I threw out the window like a piece of trash when I finally decided I was tired of being held back in a team that was great… but it could have been the greatest of all time had I had a partner that was truly my equal. But now, by what can only be a miracle from God himself our little Marty Jannetty is the WWF Intercontinental Champion! And now, he’s going to be right here on the hottest show on Earth, The Heartbreak Hotel, to tell us allllllll about it! So come on out, champ! What do you say, huh?
The Rocker's theme plays and the fans erupt in cheer as Marty Jannetty makes the short walk from the curtain to the Heartbreak Hotel set. He proudly stands before Shawn Michaels with the Intercontinental title over his shoulder. He briefly turns to Sherri and winks at her before addressing Michaels.
Marty Jannetty: You know something Shawn, for a man who has nothing right now, you sure do talk a lot. I agreed to come out here not to make YOU look better, but I came because I wanted you to see what a real superstar looks like!
The fans go crazy as Michael's face turns from cocky smile to angry. Jannetty continues.
Marty Jannetty: Shawn you say you carried the team, you were the better Rocker, but that's funny because man, my back kind of hurts...I gotta ask, man...Who was carrying who? I mean let's look at the facts shall we? I am the current Intercontinental Champ! I am the one among us that's currently one of the top superstars of the World Wrestling Federation. It's ME that was just on the cover of WWF Magazine, hell Shawn I'm not sure too many people even remember you. I remember you though. I remember how you TRIED and failed to take everything from me...how the tables have turned though my "friend" cause I've taken your spotlight, I've taken your thunder, and now? now I might as well take your woman, if you can call her that!
Jannetty turns around and begins walking slowly towards Sherri, suggestively. Shawn Michaels grabs him by the shoulder and turns him around to face him. Michaels and Jannetty face off, toe to toe as they spout trash talk back and forth at each other. While Jannetty is busy distracted by Shawn, Sherri takes her high heel shoe off and PLANTS IT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD OF THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION! Jannetty goes down hard holding the back of his head as he rolls back and forth on the mat in agony. The Heartbreak Kid and his manager laugh at the fallen Rocker, Michaels giving Sherri a high five, then bending down to put her heel back on her foot. He holds the ropes open for her as she makes her way out of the ring and up the entrance ramp, Michaels following shortly behind walking backwards with his hands held high victoriously as he watches staff tend to Jannetty, concerned about the champ's health after that nasty attack from The Heartbreak Kid's manager.
COMMERCIAL BREAK #2
JIM NEIDHART VS. MARTY JANNETTY
The next match saw the IC Champ Marty Jannetty in action against the muscle of The Hart Foundation - Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.
Jannetty went into this match injured, possibly even concust after a sneak attack by Sherri. The champ still gave it his all as he took Anvil down with a quick fireman's carry and attempted a fast pin, only to receive a one count.
It didn't take long for Anvil to gain the advantage however with a vicious head-butt to Jannetty. Anvil wouldn't give him any breathing room either. He picked him up and followed through with a back-breaker.
The ending came quickly. After the back-breaker Anvil taunted Jannetty for a moment while the fans booed heavily, then picked him up and drove him to the mat with a huge Anvil Flatliner power slam. He covered for the easy 3 count. Your Winner - Jim Neidhart.
After the match we'd see Owen Hart storm the ring and join Anvil in an assault on a defenseless Marty Jannetty. When it looked like all hope was lost all the sudden through the crowd came none other than the 1 2 3 Kid. With a lightning fast spinning heel kick he knocked Owen clean out of the ring, then followed with a drop kick to Anvil, sending the big man down and out. 1 2 3 Kid then helped Jannetty to his feet. Gorilla Monsoon then made his way through the curtain, microphone in hand! He looked at Owen Hart, getting up holding his head on the outside of the ring and brought the microphone up to his mouth to address The King of Harts and to let him know that if he really wanted it that bad, A INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE SHOT IS WHAT HE WILL GET AT SURVIVOR SERIES! Buuuuuuut there is one caveat - Jim Neidhart is barred from ringside! Owen, torn by the good news wrapped in bad news, goes ballistic! He picks up chairs, monitors... anything he can get his hands on proceeding to smash them on the ground. The Anvil rushes to Owen to calm him down as we fade to the next match of the morning.
WINNER BY PINFALL: Jim Neidhart
CRUSH VS. RAVEN
The next match would determine the European Title Number One Contender. Two impressive superstars would collide as Crush would face Raven.
Raven had the advantage early using speed advantage to avoid a huge boot by Crush, then taking the big man down with a Russian leg-sweep. Raven wouldn't stop there as he followed up with not one, but two elbow drops to a downed Crush.
Later in the match we'd see Crush come back after a huge clothesline nearly taking off Raven's head. Crush would then lay into Raven by slamming his head repeatedly into the turnbuckle as the fans counted along to ten.
After a brutal back and forth Raven had turned things around with a knee lift and a discuss clothesline of his own. Raven called for the end as he got into position for the Evenflow DDT however Slick jumped up on the apron and distracted Raven just long enough for Crush to recover, grab Raven, and locked in the Kona Clutch, and with Raven completely unconscious, the ref had no choice but to call it. Your Winner - Crush!
WINNER BY SUBMISSION: Crush
Back in the studio, we find Todd Pettengill playing some Goldeneye on Nintendo 64, the sponsor for this year's Survivor Series! Todd gets a crucial kill and then pauses the game, lays the controller to the side and addresses the fans.
Todd Pettengill: Sorry, guys! Just enjoying a little Nintendo 64 in between matches. Speaking of, the new Nintendo 64 has everything you could hope for. Awesome graphics, the best games on the planet... and do I even have to mention... SIXTY FOUR BITS?! The other guys don't do that! Nintendo 64, make sure you add it to your Christmas list today!
Pettengill gives a big cheese eating grin.
Todd Pettengill: What a couple of matches though, huh?! The next challenger for the European championship is set and the same can be said for the intercontinental title! Yes, that's right, Owen Hart is getting a shot at the intercontinental strap in a one on one match against Marty Jannetty at Survivor Series... but Jim Neidhart is banned from ringside!! And OH -- hey -- we can't forget that absolutely impressive return of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin earlier! But hey, we're about to take a quick commercial break but don't change that channel because when we come back we still have three more action packed matches for ya!
WWF Mania fades to another commercial break.
COMMERCIAL BREAK #3
LEX LUGER VS. THE MOUNTIE
Next in action we had the American Hero and fan favorite Lex Luger clashing against the law of Canada, The Mountie!
The Mountie started off on fire as he quickly nailed Luger with a kick to the midsection followed by a stiff DDT into a pin, but only got a two count. Mountie followed up with a headlock, trying to wear Luger down, but Luger fought to his feet and pulled off a back suplex, breaking the headlock and taking Mountie down hard.
Later in the match we'd see Luger keep the momentum alive as he dominated The Mountie much to the fans delight. Luger would lift The Mountie up with a giant vertical suplex followed by a running forearm, sending Mountie clean out of the ring.
The match would continue outside however as The Mountie, being ever cleaver was able to nail Luger with a quick right hand, stunning the big man long enough to send his head crashing into the guard rail. The Mountie would then roll Luger back into the ring and attempt another pin, again only getting a two count.
The ending would soon come however as The Mountie would attempt his Carotid Control sleeper. Luger would fight out of it however and slam The Mountie down with a military press slam. He quickly picked him up and followed through with the Torture Rack, and The Mountie quickly submitted. Your winner - Lex Luger.
WINNER BY SUBMISSION: Lex Luger
BRET HART VS. CHYNA
CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION NON-TITLE
The next match was definitely a surprising one as the WWF Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart looked to embarrass the European Champion Chyna.
Bret started things off in total control taking Chyna to the mat with a drop toe hold. He would then viciously kick her in the head as she was getting up, causing the fans to boo loudly.
Chyna was soon able to mount a comeback after a surprise back body drop followed by a second rope diving splash. She covered, only got a two count.
The ending came however when Bret had Chyna down after a piledriver and was setting up The Sharpshooter. Suddenly Lex Lugers music started playing and Bret immediately turned his attention to the entrance ramp.
With Bret distracted Chyna was able to get up. She quickly came behind Bret, turned him around, kicked him as hard as she could in the midsection and followed up with a huge powerbomb. Chyna quickly covered and got the three in what SOME would deem an upset. Your Winner - The European Champion Chyna!
WINNER BY PINFALL: Chyna

TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
In the Main Event of the morning we saw The Truth Commission and The Rhodes family challenge each other for the vacant tag team titles!
What a match this was folks. The match began with Dustin and Recon. Dustin quickly went to work on Recon with his "drop down uppercut combo". We then saw Dustin pick Recon up and pull off a dangerous looking spinebuster. He went for the pin only getting a two count.
Later in the match Recon had been able to tag in Sniper and Sniper had put the beat down on Dustin with a scoop slam and an inverted atomic drop followed by a clothesline. We then saw Sniper attempt a superplex, but Dustin was able to get out of it and make a desperation tag to his father Dusty.
The American Dream came in full of fury with elbows to the face of Sniper, and even Recon on the outside. He then did a little dance in the ring before picking up Sniper and following through with a huge body slam/splash combo for a two count.
Late in the match The Truth Commission had again gained the upper-hand after a huge double clothesline to Dusty by both Recon and Sniper. Dustin stood on the outside reaching in and shouting for a tag from his father, obviously worried about his well-being now. Recon was back in as the legal man and went to work on Dusty with a swinging neckbreaker but only got a one count.
The end came with Recon thinking the win was in sight as he went for a scissors kick to Dusty. Dusty was able to fall backwards however towards his corner and Dustin made the tag. he charged in, clotheslining Recon and then jump kicked Sniper clean off the mat, causing him to hit his head on the way down. With Sniper out of the way Dusty was able to shake off the pain and father and son performed a huge double vertical suplex to Recon. Dustin picked Recon up, nailed him with the Final Reckoning, and covered him for the 1 2 3. Your winners and NEW WWF Tag Team Champions - Dustin and Dusty Rhodes!
