The WWF Mania intro rolls and then fades back into Todd Pettengill sitting at the television production table inside Titan Towers for another exciting morning of WWF action!
Todd Pettengill: Welcome back to another episode of WWF Mania! Last week on Halloween night In Your House was insane! Hard hitting match after hard hitting match and THREE new champions were crowned, including the world championship when that weasel Jim Cornette and Owen Hart helped his brother Bret walk out of the BJCC with the most prestigious title in the entire world! This morning in our main event the Hart brothers have to step into the ring with the two men they robbed out of the world title, Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan! If Luger and Hogan win they get another shot at Bret and his title at our next big Pay Per View event, Survivor Series! On the other hand, if Bret and Owen win, Owen is guaranteed a one on one match with the intercontinental champion at Survivor Series! That's going to be an insane match but it doesn't stop there. Nowhere near it, in fact! Two of those new champions are wasting no time in getting to work defending their titles when The Mountie defends his European strap against Chyna and the intercontinental champion Crush faces Marty Jannetty in the main event with that belt on the line! It's all of that and much, much more - including the return of RAVEN and the debuts of Repo Man and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels - and it's coming at you now! Let's take it down to ringside to kick things off for the morning!
TAZ VS. GOLDBERG
The first match of the morning definitely drew a crowd as Taz went toe to toe with Goldberg! Goldberg came to the ring sporting a wrap around his shoulder, obviously still injured from the previous week.
The match got underway and Taz immediately went for Goldberg's injured shoulder. Goldberg fought back though with dominating strength and was able to clothesline Taz right over the top rope to the outside.
Once outside both men begin laying into each other using everything at ringside as a weapon. The end came abruptly however as both men decided at the same time to grab steel chairs. They both swung and hit, and both fell down hard.
The ref stood in the ring in disbelief and slowly counted to ten, as both men were completely knocked out at ringside. This match ended in a double count-out, and the fans let them hear their disapproval with a chorus of loud boos.
WINNER: No Contest
ROB VAN DAM VS. Shawn Michaels
In an exciting second match we saw RVD looking to find his stride against a returning and very hungry Heart Break Kid.
This match was extremely one-sided as Michaels' had a counter for every move RVD attempted, and made a morning of beating him at his own game.
At one point in the match Michael's delivered his signature Teardrop Suplex on RVD, then climbed the rope and came off with a perfect flying elbow drop. That alone could have scored the 3, but Michaels' wasn't done yet.
The end came when RVD tried to mount a comeback and irish whipped Michaels' into the ropes. Michaels' bounced back with a flying shoulder tackle sending RVD down hard. Michaels' then got in the corner and started "tuning up the band" as Sherri yelled her blessing from the outside. RVD slowly made it to his feet and the second he turned around he was met with Sweet Chin Music, and Michaels' casually made the pin for the 1 2 3. Your Winner in dominating fashion - Shawn Michaels.
WINNER BY PINFALL: Shawn Michaels
We fade back into the studio where we join Todd Pettengill again. We catch him staring at himself in a handheld mirror, making sure his hair looks perfect.
Todd Pettengill: ... Huh? Oh... uhh... sorry. Haha. Just inspired by Shawn Michaels to be the best me possible. H-how do I look?
Todd awkwardly stares towards the camera lens as the production crew in front of him remains silent.
Todd Pettengill: Never mind! Just forget you ever saw that. Heh. Moving right along, shall we? It was an... unimpressive showing from both Taz and Goldberg, but HBK saved the day with an impressive performance against Rob Van Dam! We're going to take a real quick break but when we come back we have plenty more for you including "the Natural" Dustin Rhodes returning to in ring competition and that's NEXT!
COMMERCIAL BREAK #1
DUSTIN RHODES VS. BRIAN PILLMAN
The third match was supposed to be the big comeback of Brian Pillman as he looked to take out Dustin Rhodes. This morning however wouldn't belong to Pillman, for as soon as the bell rang Dustin went to work with stiff rights and lefts, completely dismantling Pillman with his fists.
Later in the match Pillman came back with a huge back body drop and tried to keep the momentum alive with top rope missile dropkick as Dustin stood up. The momentum wouldn't last however as Dustin soon fought his way back into the match and began systematically taking Pillman apart with a spinebuster followed up by an irish whip into a huge sidewalk slam.
The end finally came when Dustin nailed a very hurt Pillman with the Unnatural Kick, and followed that up with Lonestar State of Mind. Pillman lay motionless in the ring as Dusty yelled "pin him baby pin him" from the outside. Dustin went for the cover, and the fans counted along with the ref 1...2...3! Your Winner and STILL undefeated - Dustin Rhodes.
WINNER BY PINFALL: Dustin Rhodes
RAVEN VS. REPO MAN
The fourth match was an exciting one for sure as Raven looked to turn things around for himself at the expense of The Repo Man!
The match started off on fire as Repo Man went to work on Raven with a vicious knee to the midsection followed by a huge hanging vertical suplex sending Raven crashing down hard.
Later in the match we'd see Raven bounce back and get into the fight with a running bulldog on Repo. He followed that up with a series of stomps to the downed Repo, before picking him up and pulling off a russian leg sweep.
Repo wouldn't stay down for long though as the veteran was able to get back to his feet and fight Raven off with an elbow to the face followed by a snapmare takedown into a sitting headlock, trying to wear Raven out.
The ending of the match however would come as both men brawl on the outside of the ring. The ref had made it to the count of 7 and Raven quickly slammed Repo Man's head into the ring apron and rolled him back into the ring. Raven followed and as soon as Repo Man made it to his feet, Raven was able to hit the Evenflow DDT and make the pin for the 1 2 3. Your winner - Raven!
WINNER BY PINFALL: Raven
We see a live feed backstage of the Mania Interview area, where Todd Pettengill is standing by with a microphone in hand. This, as always, is a sight to terrify everyone at home, and it only gets worse when he opens his mouth.
Todd Pettengill: Ladies and Gentlemen, it's been a busy morning already here at WWF Mania, and it's o---
Before Pettengill can even really get going on his spiel, he is cut off by the quick arrival of the baddest man in the business, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin! Austin barges into the scene, quickly grabbing Pettingill by the scruff of his collar and shaking his head.
Stone Cold: UH UH UH! You keep those thin wimpy lips shut, cause ain't no-one here want to hear from you Pet-the-gull. You got just three jobs, and thats to stand there, hold that microphone, and try not to wet yaself while Stone Cold Steve Austin is talking.
Austin pauses to sniff the air, then looks down slowly and dramatically at Pettengill's pants and then back up at his face.
Stone Cold: And you already failed one of those, ya wimp. So try to stand there, keep that microphone steady, or I'll have to beat some sense into ya when I'm done!
At this moment Austin finally lets go of Todd, turning to look directly into the camera with a cold stare. Eyes glued on the lens as he barely even pauses before starting to talk.
Stone Cold: Now, Stone Cold's been gone a while. He's been back at his ranch, kicking back with some steveweisers, enjoying his wife, and watching whats been going on around the WWF. He's been seeing guys like Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan, climbing back up to getting shots at the WWF Championship again, and Stone Cold just has to say, that it's the saddest s*** he has ever watch! The whole world knows what Stone Cold thinks of Bret Hart. You put an S in front of Hitman, and thats exactly what Stone Cold thinks of Bret Hart. And as for Hogan? We all know that pythons are no match for rattlesnakes! So Stone Cold has a simple message for those two. For the All American WUSS Lex Loser, and that nugget Owen Hart! And its the same message for anyone else out there that thinks they can get between Stone Cold Steve Austin and the WWF Championship. Austin 3:16 says I WILL whoop your ass! AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE! CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!
Austin turns to storm off but comes back and glares at Pettengill before shaking his head.
Stone Cold: Go change your damn pants, geek boy.
And just like that the scene is over.
COMMERCIAL BREAK #2
THE MOUNTIE VS. CHYNA
EUROPEAN TITLE MATCH
The next match had people at the edge of their seats as the European Champion The Mountie looked to defend his hard earned title against the Ninth Wonder of The World Chyna.
The Mountie started off on fire after getting the upperhand in a traditional lockup. He began working the arm of Chyna and followed by a body slam and dangerous looking standing knee drop right to her face.
Later in the match we'd see Chyna begin to fight back as she'd send numerous elbows to the face of The Mountie and then attempt an irish whip. The Mountie came back on the rebound and ducked a clothesline attempt by Chyna and then connected with one of his own, sending her down to the mat. He went for a cover but only got a two count.
Late in the match The Mountie still had the match under control and had Chyna down on her back. He climbed to the top rope and attemped to come off with a splash but Chyna was able to extend her leg upwards causing The Mountie to crash down into her boot, nearly knocking himself out.
The ending would come soon after however as The Mountie would look to stop Chyna in her tracks by cheating. After seeing the perfect opportunity, The Mountie attempted a lowblow only for it to have zero effect on Chyna. Realizing his mistake came too late, and Chyna was able to kick him in the midsection and deliver a beautiful and deadly Powerbomb to seal his fate with the 1 2 3. Your Winner and NEW World Wrestling Federation European Champion - Chyna!
WINNER BY PINFALL: Chyna
BRET AND OWEN HART VS. LEX LUGER AND HULK HOGAN
TAG TEAM MATCH
HIGH STAKES MATCH
Next up we had the "High Stakes Tag Match" as The Hart Foundation took on two American Heros in Lex Luger and Hogan.
Bret and Hogan started things off in grand fashion as Bret showed his technical ability against Hogan by taking the Immortal one down with a drop toe hold followed by an elbow drop to the back of the head.
This didn't keep Hogan down long though and The Hulkster was able to lay into Bret with thunderous right hands before pulling off a massive back suplex.
Later in the match we saw Bret tag in Owen and the two men were able to pull off a double clothesline to Hogan before Bret stepped out of the ring. Owen now went to work on Hogan with a second rope knee drop followed by a sleeper hold.
Hogan was able to fight the hold however and with Owen on his back, he backed into his own corner and Lex was able to make the tag. Lex came in with fury as he grabbed Owen off Hogan and laid into him with fights and lefts before following up with an irish whip into a huge back body drop.
The end of the match came as Owen and Hogan were fighting on the outside as Bret and Lex were brawling in the ring as the two legal men. The ref had his back turned trying to stop Owen and Hogan on the outside, and Anvil siezed the opportunity. Bret held Lex and Anvil slid into the ring with a steel chair. With a thunderous swing he attempted to take the head off Lex, but Lex ducked out and Anvil nearly decapitated Bret. Lex then sent Anvil over the ropes with a bionic elbow, before hoisting Bret up into the Torture Rack. The ref turned around and rushed over to Bret and soon called for the bell. Your winners - Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan.
WINNER BY SUBMISSION: Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan
COMMERCIAL BREAK #3
The cameras cut backstage to a large WWF banner where Gene Okerlund is standing by in a tuxedo.
Mean Gene Okerlund: The hits just keep coming tonight, folks, and joining me at this time is a man who many said would NEVER find his way into the WWF. He is the one, the only, the man called Sting!
"Man Called Sting" begins playing in the background as a big man with spiked blonde hair, colorful facepaint almost as colorful as his sequined jacket, steps out and pumps up the crowd with a big smile on his face. Sting turns and shares a big handshake with Gene and gives him a pat on the back so hard the interviewer stumbles forward.
Mean Gene Okerlund: I'd like to be one of the first to welcome to the WWF, Sting.
Sting: Weeeellll... I'm happy to be here, Mean Gene! The Stinger has been all across this great country of ours. From my home in Venice Beach, California to the place that was my home in Atlanta, Georgia and EVERYWHERE in between... but the one place the Stinger hasn't been is the World Wrestling Federation. They said it wouldn't happen, Gene! They said it couldn't happen, Gene! Yet here I am! The only thing you can expect from the Stinger is the unexpected and I can tell you right now that there are a WHOOOOOLE lotta guys in that locker room who are going to be losing a lot of sleep because their worst nightmare just came true!
Mean Gene Okerlund: You say that now but there are a lot of tough customers in the WWF. This isn't like your old home down south - this is the big leagues!
Sting smiles to himself and rests his hands on his hips before looking back to the camera with a fire in his eye.
Sting: The big leagues, Gene? The Stinger knows a thing or two about the big leagues. I know how to step up to the plate. I know the right time to take a swing at the ball. Heck, the Stinger knows his way around a baseball bat. I don't get intimidated even if I should be. I see a lot of bad dudes here in the WWF! I see a bunch of tough hombres! The thing is when that bell rings and the lights are bright and hot, I come alive! It's like electricity is in the air, Gene, and when I see little kids in the stands with their faces painted then I can do anything and everything. There's a bunch of bad dudes in the WWF? Well I'm a pretty bad dude too. Bring them on! AHWOOOOOO!
Sting howls for the fans in attendance, some of them familiar with his work in the "other place" howl right back with him as the cameras cut away.
Back in the Titan Towers television studio, we join Mania host Todd Pettengill one final time for the morning as he brings us to the main event!
Todd Pettengill: WOW! What a morning, fans! Tons of great back and forth matches, Raven made a strong debut, Dustin Rhodes kept his momentum rolling, CHYNA WON THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP... and now Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan get another shot at the WWF world championship! And let's not forget about Stone Cold Steve Austin being back in the WWF and what we just saw! Oh boy, what we just saw! Nobody ever thought it would become a reality but Sting is in the World Wrestling Federation! What a great show! And the most unbelievable thing? We aren't even done! We still have one more match and it's our main event! The intercontinental title is up for grabs in what should be one of the greatest matches since our return, CRUSH VS. MARTY JANNETTY! Let's not wait any longer, let's take you down to ringside to see who emerges victorious! This is Todd Pettengill signing out, enjoy the match and I'll see you next week!
CRUSH VS. MARTY JANNETTY
INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
The main event of the morning saw Crush take on Marty Jannetty with the Intercontinental Title on the line!
Early in the match Crush was able to dominate the smaller Jannetty with pure strength. Crush was able to deliver a huge atomic drop followed by a big boot that send Jannetty flipping in mid-air when The Rocker was distracted with his former partner Shawn Michaels walking down the ramp to ringside with his valet Sherri Martel! The two would spend the entire match pacing the ring and taunting Marty Jannetty.
Later in the match Crush was keeping the dominance alive as he performed a huge spike piledriver to Jannetty and was a mere second away from a three count.
As the match went on Crush began to get frustrated from not being able to keep Jannetty down. He lifted Jannetty up for a powerbomb and Jannetty slid down behind Crush. Crush turned around only to be met with a standing dropkick that only staggered the big man.
Jannetty would keep the momentum however as he bounced off the ropes and delivered a running dropkick this time that caused Crush to stumble backwards. Jannetty with persistance attempted one more dropkick and this time the big monster went down hard as the fans roared in approval.
The ending came as Crush had mounted a comeback and had been dominating Jannetty with blow after blow to the head. He signaled for his Kona Clutch but as he went to grab Jannetty by the skull, Jannetty again weasled out of the hold, delivered a sharp kick to the midsection, and was able to hit The Rocker Dropper for the 1 2 3! Your winner and NEW World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion - Marty Jannetty!
Shawn Michaels scoffs at the sight of his former partner holding the intercontinental championship high in the air victoriously. He holds his nose as he walks backwards back up the ramp with his manager following shortly behind, showing Jannetty just how much he stinks as he gives the new champ a thumbs down and Mania fades to black with Marty Jannetty celebrating with the fans.
WINNER BY PINFALL: Marty Jannetty
